75 Startups and counting... looking for a Rails Developer

ZURB is looking for a Rails Developer to work with our design strategy team. We’re a close-knit team that helps companies design better web sites, services, and products online. We’ve been around over 10 years and have over 75 startups in our client roster. Our clients range from large, well-known companies that we’ve helped for years (e.g., Photobucket, Zazzle, Playlist.com, the New York Stock Exchange) to brand-new startups just finding their feet (Qik, TinyPic). They all came to us based on our reputation of delivering killer ideas that work. We’re creative thinkers, risk takers and refuse to look at our work as just a job. We like fun projects and constantly push each other to get better at our craft.
Need a good reason to join? Here are 17 of them:
1. Food. We stock the cabinets with food. Yeah, it's full of sugar, but we try to throw in some healthy snacks. Cup o' noodles is still a weakness for some of us though.
2. 401k plan. All you have to do is say how much and we do the rest.
3. Health insurance. 100% coverage.
4. And eye care. We also take care of those eyes.
5. And teeth too. We have dental coverage. Got to impress those clients :)
6. Cell phone coverage. Can you hear us now?
7. Profit sharing. We're a team of entrepreneur thinking workers. It's important to us that everyone see the benefits of their hard work.
8. Free dry cleaning. Hate dressing up? We've taken the hard work out of putting on the snazzy dress shirt or blouse.
9. Free house cleaning. Yep, we think getting stuff done at home is just as important as getting stuff done in the office.
10. A growing library. Need a book? Just put it on the wish list and it will be added to the ZURB library.
11. 3 weeks vacation. And all those common holidays too. Work hard, play hard.
12. Lunches. Now and then we like to order sushi, and if you're working late we don't mind chipping in for dinner.
13. Start-ups. Some people go work for start-ups. At ZURB you get to help start start-ups.
14. Challenging work. We believe that everyone has a brain to think - we make you use every last brain cell.
15. Flex-time. Hey, things come up now and then. What's dental coverage when you don't have time to get those teeth drilled.
16. A great team. It's fun to work on great projects, but it's even better to learn something new from a team member.
17. Fun work environment. You see it on other company websites, but we really are committed to making work fun.

PMOG, the Passively Multiplayer Online Game

GameLayers is looking for developers to help us continue building the most popular MMO in Firefox, PMOG.
As a result of building a data-driven game out of the open web, we're facing some exciting challenges. The PMOG web application makes use of an API to talk to a Firefox extension, and we're looking to build this into a fully-fledged API that will let our rapidly expanding player-base take the game in whatever direction they see fit. We have already seen a number of high quality, yet unofficial add-ons built for PMOG, so we know the demand is there. Come and work with us and you could build a really useful API!
Whilst PMOG is an asynchronous web game, with more passive than active elements, we're still keen to explore ways of making PMOG a much more realtime based game. Our current setup would probably fall into a problem we've been calling the 'Uncanny Valley of Responsiveness', where the game is not quite realtime enough to be convincing. Would you like to work with us to turn every installed Firefox extension into a realtime capable client, giving us a good sense of player presence?
Alternatively, if you have experience of dealing with the large volumes of data generated by a high traffic website, then you'll have some sense of the volume of data that PMOG generates. We're looking for people to make sense of all that data, and to find exciting uses for it within the PMOG world, without compromising on security. Come and work with us if you're the kind of person who would thrive in an environment where there is a huge amount of data available to be mined and used for game design.
If you have experience of writing successful web applications in Ruby, Python, PHP or Java and the above challenges sound exciting, then we'd love to hear from you.
